Design process overview
1. Get Inspired
Have a look over the following sections for inspiration:
- fluidIA Vision - to get a sense of what the current direction is
- Redmine Roadmap & Open Issues - a number of rough design tasks which are in need of attention
- Feedback - to have a look at how the users feel
- Sketches & Scenarios - to see what others have done which you might be able to improve
- Usability Testing - have a read over the latest evaluation cycle to see what can be improved
2. Sketch
Anything goes. This is an open pool of ideas. Create completely new ideas of your own, or react to existing sketches by generating alternatives. Sketch up some interface ideas on paper and submit a photo of it. Or write up a scenario for how you envision some possible interaction. If paper doesn't suit you, perhaps wireframe a couple interface states or screens to illustrate what you mean. When you're done, please submit them by email (see below) and they will automatically appear in the sketches & scenarios category (once I approve them, which I will). :) Oh, also include your name in the text of the email if you don't want to stay anonymous.

3. Comment
Join the conversation through the wordpress / intensedebate commenting system and say what you think about ideas and sketches submitted by others.
4. Detailed Design (Design Lead)
At least for now, I will take ownership of the detailed visual design and detailed interaction. Here I will try to take the best ideas and consolidate them into a uniform and coherent whole. Source visual files will be eventually made available if others show the need to get involved with this and make their own adjustments.
5. Discuss
Check out the google groups mailing list if you'd like to ask others anything related to the design and development process.
