Information architects perhaps might not care much about colours or branding in the wireframe, but some might be very much interested to denote the importance of certain elements over others. For this reason, this sketch explores the ideas of quickly setting visual priority and emphasis at the element level. By pressing keys from 1 to 3, different background tones could be set.

Emphasizing & Prioritizing Elements
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009Controllable Completion
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009Interaction designers want to control the amount of feedback they receive on their interface representations, sketches and prototypes. Here is one way of being able to control that in the wireframe using style changes varying from sketchy to defined.
Auto Create Design Documentation
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009Interaction designers leave design specification to the last moment in the design process because the specification document is disconnected from the central deliverable – the wireframe. However there is still a need to explore and document occasional details while in the moment of design. Here is a scenario exploring auto generation of design documentation such as a sitemap. This sketch suggests that sitemap pages are automatically created while in design time, however later on they can be rearranged to denote more meaning. More so, interface pages can also be created from the sitemap view and then later on filled in the wireframe view.
Alternation & Concept Branching
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009Designers want to explore a “design space” and design tools should be able to support this activity. Duplicating a whole design document with many pages and elements is undesirable as items can become out of sync across documents. Sometimes a designer just wants to create a new idea or alternative at the “element” or “page” level.
